Admin Bar – search module broken on 1 page

So I have my website, running Buddypress.

And have an issue. I have written a plugin to allow mass messaging in buddypress. However on the page (which you access to perform this) which is part of the Messaging component the wordpress search (on the admin bar) is messed up.

I have allowed buddypress to use the wordpress admin bar just so you know. Instead of providing the animating magnifying glass and text entry it simply shows an input box and a button with the word “SEARCH” on it.

What have I broken?
