Admin Bar Checkbox Does Nothing

The plugin works, but putting a check mark in the Admin Bar box seems to do nothing. It’s the same whether it’s checked or not checked. What is it SUPPOSED to do?
Running WordPress 4.5.1 and Maintenance 1.2.1.
