• Hi,

I had a big problem with admin-ajax.php (heartbeath probably) hammering my server every 3 seconds when I had WP open in my browser.
After a lot of testing it looks like the noreferrer function of the web developper plugin for Firefox is causing this.
When I turn it off the requests stop.

I tried many options like the heartbeat plugin, adding code to functions.php of the theme etc but nothing helped until I switched off the no referrer option.

Might be handy to find a solution for that…

Ok, it only stopped temporarily apparently. Even when visitors keep the site open without logging in then every 3-4 seconds there is a request to this file. When 2 visitors … When 3 visitors.

Please, can you give any advice on how to disable this?
I don’t think it is a plugin since I have it on all my wordpress sites and they use different plugins.

If this continues then wordpress isn’t an option any more for anyone.
