• Hi

Can anyone tell me why Admin-ajax.php is using so much CPU?

Admin-ajax.php is using a lot of CPU

This is a screenshot taken from cPanel.

    Any thoughts are appreciated.

  • Hi,

If you trace these requests does it give any information about which class or method in admin-ajax is using all these resources? Simply from this screenshot it’s hard to derive any reasoning.

Also, if you are on a shared host this might be an issue where your host is allocating very limited CPU to a given tenant.

    Cheers

    Hi Curdin

    Thanks for replying.

That screenshot is from cPanel’s WHM
i.e. Home > System Health > Process Manager
and unfortunately that’s the only information it provides.

How do I trace the class or method? Would it be recorded in a log somewhere? I will look it up. Or do I need to install software on my server? (just guessing)

Yes I’m on a shared VPS. I assumed I’d have full control of my allocated resources.
I can dynamically provision more resources from the hosting provider’s dashboard.
I assumed there would be a “wall” between myself and other tenants???

My VPS currently has 2 CPUs. Although I don’t have to hand what specification they are.

    Sorry for being vague.
