In the settings page I have Ajaxify widget set to Disabled. Yet, I can see from the network activity that a call is being made to admin-ajax.php every time.

This is a problem for me as my web host is counting this as an execution towards my total allowance.

Is there anyway to disable this call?

Disregard. I now believe this is being called by Google Analytics.

Confirmed. This plugin is making a call to admin-ajax.php even as long as it is active. Even if Ajaxify widget set to Disabled. Even if the widget isn’t placed on the page.

    Hi there!

Actually the plugin has two different AJAX actions: one that updates the views count on page load and another one that loads widgets dynamically when the Ajaxify widget feature is enabled. You can only enable / disable the latter -as you already noticed-, the former is required by the plugin to be on all the time to track your visits.

If your site is on a shared hosting and / or it’s a high-traffic site, you want to read this.
