• Hi all,

I am using WooCommerce for a classic car owners club, where we offer spare parts for sale to our members. A large number of our members do not have access to the internet, so we accept orders via post for items.

I have found that, despite “Hide out of stock items from the catalog” being set, orders added via the Admin “Add Order” page allow out of stock items to be added to an order, which places the product into Backorder state when reducing the stock count (which, annoyingly, has to be done manually).

Additionally, as the Admin user could be given a huge list of product stock changes (some of our orders run to 50+ lines), spotting that an item stock level has reduced from “0 to -1” isn’t easy to see, and it is causing orders to be sent to our pickers/packers which contain out of stock items, causing them hassles.

How can I prevent out of stock items being added to an order in the back-end?

Bump – anyone, anywhere, got any input to preventing out of stock items from being made available in the back-end “Add Order” page?
