Admin Account Can’t Post Comments

    I have an account with admin privileges that can’t leave comments on the blog or on pages. The “Admin” account works fine – it’s a second account with admin privileges that doesn’t work. Other random people have been able to leave comments as well.

    The comments are not going into the moderation queue. If I try to post the comment a second time, I get an error message that says I “already said that” even though my comments are not visible. I checked the Discussion Options, and I don’t see anything that could be blocking my own comments.

    I could leave comments for a while after the WordPress install, but I can’t connect this problem with the installation of any particular module. It seems like if a module was causing it, it would affect all the user accounts.

    You may want to update your WP install (then try the role manager plugin?).

    Hmmm – it shouldn’t be out of date yet. The site is only a few months old. I’m also very nervous about doing anything to it because I wasn’t the one who originally installed it, and the site uses non-standard templates that have caused all sorts of problems.

    I’ll look at the role manager plugin and see if I can just add that. *crosses fingers*

    Unfortunately, roles were inroduced in 2.0.3, I believe… I think you have 2.0?

    You any good with MySQL/phpMyAdmin?

    I can get into phpMyAdmin and the tables. Is there a value I can change somewhere to fix this?

    Doh! I found the problem!

    Posts from my account are going into Askimet! I checked “not spam” on one. Is there anything else I can do to innoculate my own account from Askimet?
