    I see the featured image display on various conditions (homepage or article view, web view or mobile view) has a very dynamic setting.
    From a very elevated display (homepage when web view – approx. 2:3) to a very wide view (homepage when mobile view – approx. 16:7).

    I dont mind with the resolution changes, it just perfect, but these resolution changes made by cropping the image towards the center from both vertically & horizontally (up, down, left, right).
    This is quite difficult when choosing proper image to be placed on the featured image (main focus on image).

    Can I adjust the featured image so that the display settings are cropped from the right and left (horizontally) only or up and down (vertically) only, based on the longest pixel needed?

    Hi!

    I see what you mean with it being hard to pick a featured image that looks good on all types of aspect ratios. For the demo, I used 1280x720px stock images.

    As for cropping the featured image, perhaps there is a plugin out there that could do what you want. I haven’t tested it myself, but:
