Adjust Digest email output

Hi! I’ve recently installed your plugin and have been playing around with it a little. First of all; thnx for the great work! I’m using it now to send a weekly digest email to a large group of user (2000+) which is going quite well actually using an SMTP plugin and an email template designer (and an actual cron job and a good mailserver).

I’m getting a question about the output though which I’m trying to figure out. The output in the digestion email are now all the complete Activity Updates per Group. Since the community is posting a lot of content they want to summarize the activity updates with a link to the update (or group wall) itself to keep the weekly digest email a bit tidy.

I’m wondering what the best course of action is for this. Copying and adjusting the bp-activity-subscription-digest.php in the right folder in my theme does not seem to work; should it? If so I’m assuming editing the $user_message_args[‘usermessage’] in bpges_generate_digest() would do the trick?

Otherwise, is there a specific hook I can use to edit the email output or character limit per activity update? Thnx!
