    Hi there,

I’ve activated the option: “Enable Facebook Dynamic Product Ads”, on Woocommerce Setup tab, since I need to set pixel content_ids with the same value as Products ID, through the ” Treat variable products like simple products” option.

The thing is, when we activate “Enable Facebook Dynamic Product Ads“, the AddToCart event is activated on: add to cart button, cart page and checkout page. So I understand when a product is added to the cart, the pixel configuration will count three different AddToCart events, isn’t it?

Is it right? I wouldn’t like to read fake information on my pixel stats. Since I just would like to count the AddtoCart action when the button is clicked on woocommerce.

Hope you can help me out, Thanks and regards.

    Hi,

Depending on your situation, you should keep just one of the settings on.

I would say to keep the button related event, since it works fine for most cases.

Do a test and see if the event is fired once you modify these settings. Delete your cache, if any.

PS. We have those 3 different options because some users do need them. Sometime, when the button redirects to the cart page the event isn’t fired on clicks (it depends on how the theme works). So this is when you need it fired on the cart page instead. There are other custom websites with no default buttons and no cart page, this is when it’s useful to have it on the checkout page.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the quick reply.
I’d like just to keep the button related event but there is a problem.

If I just select to fire AddToCart when the button is clicked, “Treat variable products like simple products” option in Woocommerce Setup, would be switched off.

The only way of keeping the content_ids from pixel with the same value as Products ID from catalog, is activating “Treat variable products like simple products” through the Dynamic Product Ads, what means to have the AddToCart button on 3 options.

So I’d like to know how to fire the AddToCart event just when customer clicks on Add to cart button, at the same time that the content_ids parameter on this event, is the same value as each Product ID.
Otherwise, If I configure this event manually, to fire the AddToCart event just when button is clicked, I have to select a fixed value on content_ids, what will provide me a Pixel Configuration Error, since products will be not matched properly from website to the Product Catalog.

    Any suggestion?

    Thanks again.

    Hello again,

The two options are NOT related. You can select to fire the AddToCart event on cart buttons only and keep the “treat variable products like simple products” OFF.

“treat variable products like simple products” must be selected if your Facebook Product Catalog doesn’t include variations.

    Hi and thanks.

I switched that option OFF and did not configured the event AddToCart.

Now, works properly and the event is fired just once without errors.

The AddToCart event is added by the plugin just as I selected, (when clicking the button), and it’s not necessary to set that event manually.

    That was the issue.

    Cheers.
