When I test clicking from the product page Woo Commerce automatically adds more than one copy of the e-book to the cart. It varies how many it adds – could be 1, 3 or 7 etc. If this is happening to purchasers they may be put off by this. It is possible to change the number of copies but I would rather it just added one on opening the cart page.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @housesittingtravellers

Can you walk us through the exact steps you did to add the product to the cart, and which product was used?

I attempted to replicate this with this product by clicking “Buy Now”, and it was added to the cart without any issues. Can you please verify if the problem persists with this specific product I tested? This will help us diagnose the issue.

    Hi Darla

    Many thanks for your response.

There’s only one product on the site. I have just had a thought that the problem might be something to do with whether I’m in the WP dashboard when testing it. So I did a video from the WP dashboard and you can see it adds more to the cart – https://www.loom.com/share/577a845fe7e34855898bc25d2cdf5d26?sid=160470cb-98ab-4c53-9a93-19251ead5930

But then I tried accessing the site as a visitor would through an incognito page and it only added one copy.

So – do you think this might be the issue? In that case it’s fine for visitors.

    One other question –

I am suddenly getting a message saying I am visiting from the US when I access the site from an incognito page. I cannot figure out how to change this. I am in Australia. I can change the currency obviously but I want to know how to change it so it accurately detects which country I’m visiting from.

    Many thanks.

    Hi @housesittingtravellers

Looking at the video you sent, it’s clear that the problem of multiple e-book copies being added to your cart occurs when you’re logged into the WP dashboard. However, visiting the site as a guest through an incognito page correctly adds only one copy. This indicates that you might have added the product to the cart multiple times.

Would you mind removing the product from your cart and trying again? Don’t forget to clear your browser cache before you do.

Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you.

Thanks Shameem – that worked – thank you!

Do you know the answer to this other question?

I am suddenly getting a message saying I am visiting from the US when I access the site from an incognito page. I cannot figure out how to change this. I am in Australia. Hello again @housesittingtravellers

I am suddenly getting a message saying I am visiting from the US when I access the site from an incognito page. I cannot figure out how to change this. I am in Australia. I can change the currency obviously but I want to know how to change it so it accurately detects which country I’m visiting from.

When you visit a site in incognito mode, your browser does not share certain information with the website you’re visiting. This may include cookies that the website uses to remember your location. Therefore, the website may default to a certain location, in this case, the US, because it cannot determine your actual location.

However, please note that WooCommerce doesn’t automatically detect a visitor’s location to display the currency. It’s the responsibility of the site owner to configure the appropriate settings to allow for automatic geolocation.

To ensure that your location is accurately detected, you could try the following:

    1. Check your browser settings to ensure that location services are enabled.
    2. Ensure that you have not disabled cookies or other site data in your browser settings.
    3. If you are using a VPN, check that it is not set to a location in the US.

Also, I would suggest using a non-incognito mode, and then checking if the issue persists. If not, then it should be good.
