• Used this plug-in for some time with no problems then noticed during a page speed test today it was increasing load time significantly by embedding ShareThis tracking cookies and pixels. Aside from the privacy issues involved, I was shocked to find some of the redirect chains had links to the loadm.exelator browser hijacker virus. Extremely poor behaviour from a previously trusted plug-in. I have deleted it.

  • Hi @bucoma,

Thanks for reaching out and apologies if you’re seeing this issue.
We do not fire tracking pixels onto our plugin so I’m not sure why you’re seeing this issue. Did you happen to have screenshot or can share with me the pixel identifier that you used in order to come to a conclusion that ShareThis was the cause of the issue?

Thank you and hope to help, feel free to also contact us directly at [email protected].

    Hi Brandon

It just so happens I did get a snip of this that shows the links to loadm.exelator.

Screen snip SMF plug in redirects

Only a portion of the page unfortunately but ShareThis was among the several other blocks of redirect chains further down which led me to suspect the Social Media Feather plug in. Once I disabled and removed that specific plug in (and only that plug in), the Pagespeed ‘Minimise Redirects’ recommendation disappeared entirely (and the loading speed increased).
