Address must be filled in

Another new “feature” of a release is preventing the form being used.
I am using the address field (with it a required field) with its subfields. Despite completing all the fields in the form the visitor then gets the following message:
<h1>Address</h1><br>This field is required and cannot be empty.
This seems to be the heading for that part of the form rather than the actual fields.
