    Hi, We have a website and use word press, I personaly edit the site and do the changes etc, but the site wasn’t built by me, We have an address box in the top right hand corner of the website…which shows the address of the company, telephone number and the e-mail address. I want to edit this box but I have no idea where on the dashboard it’s located, I have really searched but can’t seem to find anywhere that edits it.

    I would be grateful of anyones help…please don’t talk jargon to me, I’m reasonably computer literate but I need the answer as plain english as possible please…Thank you

    Hi again,

    I discovered …We do have Phpmyadmin… and have a user name and password, everything.

    So is this classed as our full admin access?

    No. That’s just access to your database but you can make changes to the db to give you full admin access. Using Phpmyadmin (or another MySQL management tool), first backup your database. Then navigate to your wp_usermeta table and locate the meta_key called “wp_capabilities” for your user_id. Change the meta-value for this record to:

    a:1:{s:13:"administrator";b:1;}

    again thanks for your reply

    I’ve found where you mean, and I can change it.

    but what will happen? and what will the user name change to?

    I contacted that web designer …and as if by magic when I logged in again …hey presto… I’d got full admin access, as well as him, so he must have had it all along and kept the main admin rights to himself.

    I have made me an administrator too, so that I can do what I want.

    I’d still appreciate an answer to my last post though, if you don’t mind ..Thanks again

    No problem. Glad I could help ??

    Hi again, I’ll stop stalking you soon …promise

    a:1:{s:13:”administrator”;b:1;}

    what happens if I input the above?

    You don’t need to do that now as you have admin access. All it does is applies admin status to that user.

    Ok I get you now.

    Sonow I am an admin user, if I create a new User? and then give that user Admin rights then that would be a way of having the user name I want?

    Correct. ??
