I have two registered domains, a main domain and an add-on domain.
    (ex: main.com, addon.com)

I have WordPress on both of them, but I only put multisites on the add-on domain.
I followed all instructions perfectly, and set up the wildcard (*.addon.com) and there are no problems in my .htaccess or wp-config files.

When I attempt to go to my subdomains or their wp dashboards (such as blog.addon.com), they automatically redirect to my main domain (main.com)!

Customer support at my hosting service could not find a problem. What could I be doing wrong?

How did you made the wildcard?

    Does this work without multisite?

    Where does fakesub.addon.com go?

When you make a subdomain, you’re (generally) given the option of where you want it to point to. Like when I make mine, they default to /public_html/subdomain or /home/username/subdomain.domain.com/

So in theory if you pointed the wildcard subdomain of *.addon.com to /home/username/addon.com that would do it.

I changed the document roots for the wildcard and the subdomains to “public_html/addon.com” and that fixed it!

    Thanks for the reply.
