At the recommendation of a post elsewhere regarding a problem with NextGen Gallery uploads not working, I changed my Permalink settings to postname from the default. This caused a large number of issues as now all of my images were lost.

I have almost everything back but I noticed some of my pages such as my home page have extra images that appear to be left over, i.e they were inserted into the page earlier, but then deleted when I lost my links to the images. I have edited the pages but cannot seem to find out where the extra images are coming from.

Take a look at the home page on my site.

Scroll down to the bottom of the home page and you will see 3 extra pictures that should not be there!

A very strange symptom of this problem, is that if I Edit the page and delete all of the text, so nothing is in the page, then update, the images only appear.

It’s like these images are stored in a page template somewhere. Does anyone know where?

Well could not for the life of me figure out where the extra images came from, so did a copy paste of the text into a word doc, deleted the page, recreated the page and pasted the text back in – images are gone.

    Well it’s back.

Everytime I add a new page with images, the images appear in the proper place within the text, but also appear all together at the bottom of the page repeated. Everything looks fine in the Visual and Text Editors.

For example see the post on my website under Astronomy, Are You Ready for Comet ISON?

I discovered the solution to this problem in case anyone else experiences it. There is a plug-in I am using called WP User Frontend which has a setting under Others called “Show image on posts”. It was turned on and once I turned it off, the images disappeared!
