Additional Verification Required – Logging In After New Account Creation

After making a subscription purchase, the customer receives the “Subscription is Now Active” email and the “You have a new account” email, quickly without issue. Yet when trying to log into their account, they are met with the following message:
“VERIFICATION REQUIRED: Additional verification is required for login. If there is a valid account for the provided login credentials, please check the email address associated with it for a verification link to continue logging in.”
Yet that email never comes. I have tried it myself with two different email addresses and I never receive the verification email. Not in spam/junk folder.
Ideas?
