Additional page content above loop output

I may have misunderstood the intention or capacity of this plugin.

I tried using it to display appropriate items with descriptive page content above the loop display but nothing shows.

This is the page I’m referring to with the loop. It is a test page so it has other stuff commented out, but I have pasted the body of another page into the content area of this one hoping to have a category page with content about that category.

Ideally if you are taking a look at the second page, I had hoped to use the loop to put the categories into each tab – Conversation, Grammar, etc as opposed to “per page”
