• So this is my dilemma…I am trying to download WordPress to an Addon domain in Bluehost. I went into simplescript and pointed WordPress to the right folder in which to download,(a new folder in my public_html directory).

All was going well until at the end of the process when this rather disconcerting message came up:

“Directory exists! I understand that continuing will overwrite files.”

As I do not want to mess up my primary site I backed-off from the installation process and immediately came here.

Should I hit okay or not? Will it overwrite anything that will effect my primary site?

    Help appreciated.

  • What you’re seeing is a message from your web server telling you that since you’ve already created that folder, it’s warning you that it doesn’t need to create it itself just in case you have anything in it already. Because you’ve just created it and the add-on domain it’s safe to continue. It’s just a warning – just in case.

    please i need help.
