• I have a website which I created from scratch using Dreamweaver CS5. It is a template based website, so all pages utilize a single .dwt template file. I recently created my first blog, yea for me, using a one click wordpress install through my host provider. Only after publishing it did I realize that it doesnt use my template, nor any of the .css or .js files needed to display each page. I had a feeling that would happen. So then I downloaded wordpress to my computer, and unzipped it to my local copy at example.com/blog.

But I need to know now how do I set the style of the blog page to be the same as the rest of my web pages. How do I apply my custom dreamweaver template to the blog page? Or do I create a new page and then insert the blog into that page?

I would sincerely appreciate any help.

  • There’s not an easy way to do what you are asking about – you’ll need to do a bunch of custom coding…

Thanks for the quick reply WPyogi.

Not easy is a better answer than not possible. Is there someplace i can go that has instructions, a list, something that tells me what to do?

Ive been looking around www.remarpro.com and havent seen anything anywhere, and ive also been scouring the adobe forums as well with no luck.

I don’t know of a simple “how to” – in general terms you’d need to customize the blog (WP) page to look like your site – which will likely mean redoing quite a lot of CSS, HTML and possibly WP template files. Are you familiar with those?

If you use a WP theme that’s “close” to the look of your existing site, that will make it easier.
