I am trying to add a video as a product on my site using woocommerce, so when someone makes a purchase they will get access to view the video.
When you select a simple and then downloadable product, there is an option of entering a url of your video. But when the purchase is made it gives the customer only an option to download a file rather than displaying a video. I also tried the “embed” code but it did not even save it when I published the product.

Basically I want to sell an access to a video lesson, is there a way to accomplish this with woocommerce?
    Thanks

    Hey there!

You are seeing the default way that WooCommerce would handle a downloadable product.

If you wanted to do more like selling access to a lesson or pages, you would want to use something like Paid Courses: https://woocommerce.com/products/woocommerce-paid-courses/

You can also use a plugin like Memberships: https://woocommerce.com/products/woocommerce-memberships/ to sell access to anything on your site, more generally.

Hopefully that helps! Have a great one!

Hi, it looks like I am still not able to get this resolved. I tried membership option but it does not fit my business model.

Essentially what I want to be able to do is to give customer access to another page once they make a purchase. If let’s say I want to let a customer view an article for $2. They select an article they want to read, go through checkout process and then they would be redirected to a page on my site that contains the article. How can I achieve this?

I tried Woocommerce but it only has option to sell a physical product or to let them download a file.

With Membership plugins, the customer needs to choose a membership level to gain access to a page and I’m not looking to collect members. I just need to have an option for customers to pay for digital content (text, videos, pictures)

Please let me know if there is a viable solution for this with wordpress

    Thank you very much
