Adding to a custom field in custom post types

Need to add star rating to looped output of each unique custom post ID displayed per row. Is there a shortcode to place inside a backend form field that recognizes the custom post ID that will parsed star rating display output? Or, is there a logical best practice suggestion for the plugin in this case? Thank you.
