    Hello,

I am using SiteOrigin Page builder so I would love to add the TinyMCE functionality to the the text widget so I can adjust my font size/style, etc.

I downloaded TinyMCE but it only added the TinyMCE functionality to the normal WordPress text editor, not the Text Widget.

Is there anyway to add this functionality to the text widget?

    Thanks,

    Travis

  • Hi Travis,

The text widget is a default WordPress widget and it’s intentionally very basic. I would recommend using a plugin that adds a dedicated TinyMCE Widget rather than attempting to extend the Text widget directly. The SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle includes a widget called the SiteOrigin Editor widget which is a full TinyMCE Editor (and it can also be extended using TinyMCE Advanced).

    Hello ALexso,

Thanks for the advice. I will do that.

    Cheers,

Actually the default “text” widget in core uses TinyMCE. It is initialized from js so TinyMCE Advanced doesn’t apply any changes to it, but it is possible I’ll add settings for it too (at some point in the future) ??

    Hi Andrew,

Oh, you’re right – I feel pretty silly! That’s great to hear and I’m very sorry for the misinformation!
