Adding three column widget with photos from scratch

I am using IgnitionDeck crowdfunding theme. The theme came with custom widgets that allow you to add photos and text boxes that look clean together. I’m trying to do a three column widget with a photo in each column. There would be a photo in the left, center, and right columns. Visitors should be able to click on the photo in the column and be directed to a different page on the site.

It looks like i’m going to have to do this manually, because that widget is not an option with my current theme.

1. There is a widget option to use ‘arbitrary text or html’. Can I somehow use HTML to make the three columns and add three photos from my media library? How do I add a photo from the media library to display in the column?

2. If that widget option won’t work – what widget option will? The widget i describe in 1 appears to have been included in wordpress – not my theme specifically.
