  • Hello,

Are you trying to add the description to the shop page? Can you temporarily switch your theme to Storefront and check if the description shows up?

Hi, i dont have storefront installed…i downloaded it from woo commerce and tried uploading the zip file but it failed ??

Is there any other quick fix just to add one line of text at the top of this page??

Just realised also that this is a theme? and not a plug in…

i just using the pages that are automatically generated by the woo commerce plug in…

    Hello,

You can upload the Storefront zip file from Appearance > Add New Theme, not Plugins > Add New.

Yes, the shop page comes with the WooCommerce plugin. Storeftont is one of the default themes that core WooCommerce features work properly with, and that is why I asked you to temporarily switch to it to make sure the core WooCommerce is working as expected.

I’ve added text to the shop page on my test site, and it shows up on the front end properly with Storefront theme.

ok, i have the storefront theme downloaded and i will try this.
If it does work though with the theme, then it wont make a difference really as i cant design the rest of my site round the shop page…currently my shop is only one page of a larger portfolio site – designed with another theme….

    Hello,

If the description text shows up when Storefront is activated, that means core WooCommerce is working properly, but your theme is designed to hide the section – in which case, you’d need to contact the theme developer directly and ask them how to display the text.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
