• I’ve searched and have not found an exact answer to my question. I’m using theme twenty eleven. Instead of using the text and tagline header, I have that turned off and I have an image header. The image header has some text embedded in the image, but I would like to add some smaller non-image real text above and below the image text so I’ll still have some searchable tagline text in the header, and also so I can modify the tagline easily without having to make a new photoshop image each time. Can someone tell me how to overlay text in the header image area of twenty eleven? I suppose another possibility would be to turn off the header image, turn on the title/tagline and then embed the background image I’m using in that section. Either way, I need some advice about how to accomplish this. Thanks in advance.

  • Do not edit the Twenty Eleven theme. It is the default WordPress theme and having access to an unedited version of the theme is vital when dealing with a range of site issues. First create a child theme for your changes.

Okay, I should clarify that I’m using a child of twenty eleven. What’s a good way to accomplish this modification within the twenty eleven child theme?
