Adding text on the dynamic hompage

    Hi,
    I am using wordpress with a theme which has a slider and other content on the home page. Under the slider I want to add some information text. I would prefer to have that text from one of my page or post so that I can edit that whenever I want.
    What kind of code should I use for that and where should I put that?

    you are right, if I add a new page and choose a template option “home” then it works as home page but without a couple of functions which are on the actual home page.
    I replaced the code you provided and it appeared only at the homepage which I created myself with template “home” chosen.

    What do you suggest?
