Adding "switch back" link to menu, widget, or elsewhere on the front-end?

    We use WooCommerce (plus other solutions that fit this scenario), which includes options to entirely block the WP admin from the “customer” user role. So when we use User Switching we have no way of switching back, since we’re pushed to the front-end and have no option to reach the WP admin. We want it to remain that way for customers, but would like to be able to quickly switch back like we can from the WP Admin for other user roles.

    For now, I’ve added a logout link via a custom menu in the sidebar, for the pages we need to access through a user’s account. So we just log out entirely at that point. However, it would be nice to add a link to “switch back” to our admin user. Preferably a link that only shows when you’re an admin that’s switched to a user.

    Does that make sense? And is it possible?

    Hi Tevya,

    User Switching should display a ‘Switch Back’ link in the site’s footer whenever the admin toolbar is hidden (see here).

    Is this link not showing up for you?

    It is! Thanks. I didn’t know to look for it. I’m using your awesome plugin on several sites and am not sure I’d come across this scenario before, so wasn’t aware it was there. Thanks much.

    Cool! It might not be very noticable down there but it’s the only place it can reliably go. You’re ok once you know it’s there ??
