    Hello,

I think it would benefit the plugin to have a Start Element. I’d like the widget to stick only upon reaching a certain point in the post/page.

Margin top/bottom of window won’t work because post content length is dynamic.

I’m thinking maybe a specific div tag can be manually entered into a point in a post/page, where the widget begins to stick only once user scrolls to that point.

Alternative way to achieve this could be to apply a fixed margin/distance from the bottom of the article/content container (i.e. widget will begin sticking 400px before the bottom of the article/content container).

Is there a hacky way to achieve this in the current version?

    Thanks.

    Hey homelesshenry,

    thanks for reaching out.

The fixed feature starts when the element that is fixed reaches the top of the page or a margin defined from the top.

I don’t understand how this behavior could be related to another element.
E.g., let’s say there is a way to say that element A becomes sticky when element B reaches a certain point on the page. But what happens when element A is already out of sight? Would you then have it appear again on the screen in a fixed position?

    Thanks,
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas,

I hadn’t thought it through much, but that was my initial thought as well.

Element A has been scrolled past out of sight, the checkpoint/Element B is reached and Element A then appears fixed to scroll at the top.

Because sometimes you want a widget or ad to appear and then stick only near the end of the article/page.

Healthline is sort of doing something similar, although it’s with several sticky widgets that appear to be using height yet its dynamically spaced apart throughout the page: https://www.healthline.com/health/adrenal-glands

Thanks homelesshenry, I will add it to our ideas list. Right now, we try to get 6.0.0 stable for as many users as possible before going back and thinking about new features.
