• Hi there, I’m trying to add blog posts from my blog that are recipes into a ‘recipes’ page. I’ve created the page but don’t know how to select certain blog posts and move them to this page. Any help greatly appreciated!

  • You could try to create a recipe category, add the recipe category to the relevant blog post page then link to the recipe category page in WP menus. This will have all your recipe blog posts showing up!

Thank you for your reply! I have created the recipe category but how do I add a category to a page? And then how do I do the link? Sorry, extremely ignorant!!

I’m really sorry and very grateful for your help but I just don’t understand any of this language. I’m trying to follow the instructions and have both added a recipe category and set up a custom menu, but I don’t know how to literally take the specific blog posts I want to use and put them in the category/menu.

    Hi Cally,
If you go into your Posts, click on the post you want to add a category.
On the right hand side of the page there is a Categories box right underneath the publish box. Just tick the category you want the post to appear under and press update.

If your custom menu isn’t showing up. Go to appearance>menu and choose the manage location tab at the top of the page. this will show all the locations you can have a menu (there may be more than one). Choose your custom menu from the dropdown and it will show up in that location.

Hi Belbo, I did what you said and it worked BUT when I selected ‘recipes’ as the primary menu (it was the only choice), it DID put all my recipe posts into the recipe menu, but it hid all the other menu options :/
