Adding Social Icons To Author Template

  • I’m looking to link the fields in the user profile to come up as social icons (with some standard social icon pack in the author profiles. Of course, I also wouldn’t want social icons to appear when the profile fields are blank.

    The area labelled ‘3’ in this image is pretty much exactly what I’m looking to do.

    That would depend on the theme and how it is structured/coded. What theme is it?

    Hey Jose. Thank you for the reply. I am trying to just learn from scratch so even letting me know this is a good start for me!

    I am using the Enfold theme. I made a ticket on their forums a while ago but they said that “it would require a deeper customization to the theme which falls beyond our support scope.”

    I honestly have been scouring the internet but everything I have been finding talks about the author BOXES that appear at the end of a post rather than the author template/profile (sometimes ‘bio,’ ‘profile,’ and ‘template’ are all used interchangeably and refer to different things, so it’s been very hard to narrow down my search).

    One way you can do it if you are comfortable with CSS/PHP/HTML is create a child theme to make changes. At least then any changes you make, you won’t lose if the theme gets updated.
