I don’t know if this is a WordPress (WP) issue or a Wowslider issue, but I am unable to add a new slider to WP. I initially created a slider and tried to install the zip file. WP wouldn’t accept it so I tried to upload it and it still didn’t install. I finally went to WP plugins and added the Wowslider plugin. I then tried to follow the directions to import the zip file from a folder in the directory (wp-content/uploads/) which is a pain but worked the first time. I then tried to create another one and import it from a folder (wp-content/uploads/wow-slider-plugin/import/) but it doesn’t add it to the sliders in WP. My directory looks like this:
    WordPress
    -wp-content
    -uploads
    -wowslider plugin
    -import
-Cambodia slider (the file I want to add)

I’m wondering if the problem may be that the WP files are in a sub, sub directory on our server.

I know I am able to add media files up to 64 MB in WP, so I don’t think it’s the size of the zip file.

I really don’t want to have to import from a folder every time and would rather just upload the zip file. Please you give me guidance on how to make this work in WP?

I thought I would just start all over, so I removed the wowslider from our site in Filezilla, and deleted the plugin in WordPress. Then I tried to install the wowslider via the plugin route and got the following screen message:
Installing Plugin from uploaded file: wowslider.zip
    Unpacking the package…
    Installing the plugin…
The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.
    Plugin install failed

What would cause WordPress to not find a “valid plugin” if the zip file is supposed to create the plugin?

Sorry – I got it working through a lot of trial and error.
