• I just started my Worpress site a few weeks ago and I was wondering if there is any way to add a text widget in the sidebar that has the same title, but different content for each individual post page.

For example, if the sidebar widget was titled “Music”, I’d like to keep the widget titled “Music”, but add different info (images, links, etc) on each separate post page depending on the musician/band that the post highlighted.

I tried a widget plugin and was able to post a text widget on two pages (using small cap and large cap for title name), but I can’t use the same title on the remaining post pages because there’s no way to manage which title goes with which post in the event I wanted to change the images/links. Plus, if I had 100 posts, I’d need 100 text widgets.

I get the feeling it’s not possible to do this, but just thought I’d ask anyway. Thanks for your time.

  • Generally, all single post pages will receive the same sidebar content as all single post pages use the same template.

However, that is somewhat dependent on the theme, and if the theme supports custom post types. Most themes for blog content, however, will just use the same single.php template file.

    Okay, thanks.

Am still looking through plugins, etc. for alternatives. Thanks for mentioning the single.php thing. Don’t know what it is but at least now I now to research it.

    Thanks again.
