Adding Shortcodes to Excerpts / Custom Fields

I am wondering the same thing. I’d love shortcodes to be used in excerpts or custom fields. Is this possible?

Looks like you posted this about 4 months ago, did you figure a work around?

I deleted this line from the catlist.php file;
$text = strip_shortcodes($text);
And the short codes work in the custom fields now!

Excuse me, not the custom fields — short codes work in excerpts if you delete the line above.

Ohacastle, thanks a million for the response! I think I found a workaround or went with another solution at the time. It was a time sensitive project and it just needed to be done. I’ll definitely save this for future reference, as I do love this plugin even more than cute pictures of cats on the web (actually by far!)
