Adding shortcode to the template page in PHP

    Hey,

    I am using a gallery and I am having issues with my layout, so I am planning on using the shortcode in the actual php file.

    <div id="contentgallery">
[gallery id="2"]
</div></a>

    is what i entered however it obviously just displays [gallery id="2"] on the page rather than the actual gallery system

    Any ideas how I can add it?
