Adding shortcode to Account page custom tab

I’m following this page:

to add a custom tab on the Account page.

I would like that custom content to be a shortcode, but it just displays the name of the shortcode and doesn’t render the content. Is it possible to do this?

Also, how do I remove the button on the page? The tab will just display info and won’t need to be updated at all.
