adding search to my theme.

Hi eveybody,

Iv’e create my own theme, and i would like to add a simple search to my site, i have already built search input and button, iv’e been looking for a guide that can help me how to do this , play with search.php searchform.php but couldn’t find one.

if someone knows a good guide or can tell me how can i do this i’ll be glad.
