Adding role ARIA landmarks

    I am using the Divi theme, and trying to make it ADA / section 508 compliant. My page is missing the Main and Footer landmarks. I am hoping that the WP Accessibility Helper plugin can help me add those. Because I do not want to change themes.

    I have put in my ID selectors for Main-content and Main-footer into the Control HTML5 elements selectors field in the plugin settings. But I am seeing no “role=” added in my page source code. I am missing something? Or misunderstanding the how the plugin works?

    My div id names are:
    <div id=”main-content”>
    <footer id=”main-footer”>

    I have wordpress, theme and plugin up-to-date. I am using no caching.

    we checked the latest plugin version and all works fine…

    We need more information about your WP and plugin version.
    Also, if you can, please provide us admin access to your website.

    Do you use some cache or minify plugins?

    Hi,
    I have the WAH plugin up-to-date (Version 0.5.8.9). And I have my theme and core files up-to-date. I have never used caching on this site. I have disabled all other plugins.

    I can give you admin access. What is the best way to send you the details?

    I checked the site with two accessibility evaluators. And it does recognize the main and contentinfo landmarks. So the plugin does work for me!
    However I do not see the landmarks in the page source code / view source:
    role=”main”
    role=”contentinfo”

    Is that by design?
