I tried the step by step method that was described in this previous thread. I still receive this error when I try to upload a .RFA file to my media library.

“1 file could not be uploaded because of an error wile uploading”

I have a wordpress.com website. I installed Media Library Assistant. I added rfa in the extension field with “application/octet-stream” in the MIME Type text box.
I selected binary as the Icon Type
I left the “Inactive” checkbox unchecked
I entered “Composite Document File V2 Document” within the description
I clicked “Add Upload MIME Type”.

Once finished I tried to drag and drop my .rfa file into the media library. An icon with a loading bar showed then disappeared and the text with the exclamation point appeared above with the text “1 file could not be uploaded because of an error wile uploading”

    Am I missing any steps?
    Thank you for your help.

Thanks for taking the time to find the earlier topic and try the method I outlined there.

The file upload process is handled by WordPress, not MLA. Recent WordPress versions added a security check that might be failing. You can try:

    1. Navigate to the Settings/Media Library Assistant Uploads tab.
    2. Check the “Always Use MLA MIME Type” box in the upper left part of the page.
    3. Click “Save Changes” to record the new setting.
    4. Try uploading the file again.

If that doesn’t work you can remove MLA’s code from the Media/Add New (Upload New Media) page:

    1. Navigate to the Settings/Media Library Assistant General tab.
    2. Scroll down to the “Media/Add New Enhancements” section and uncheck the “Enable “bulk edit” area” box.
    3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Save Changes” to record the new setting.
    4. Try uploading the file again.

If that resolves the problem or if that does not resolve the problem it would be great if you can post a link to the file that isn’t working so I can try it on my system and investigate further. If posting a link isn’t possible you can contact me at my web site for instructions on where to send the file.

You can also try clicking the “Problems? Try the browser uploader instead.” link below the drag and drop area.

Thanks for your understanding and your help in resolving this issue.

It has been over a month since my last post in this topic. I hope the above suggestions were helpful and you have solved your upload issue.

I am marking the topic resolved, but please update it if you have problems or further questions regarding the solutions I outlined or have more information I can use to investigate further.
