what happens if you deactivate all plugins?

I have not edited the category template in any way and I have a lot of customizations that I can not lose by switching themes. If I deactivate the plugins will that not remove my work I have several tables and use many plugins/widgets

In fact I have the pageline 2.0 framework on a zip file I am just too worried to install it. It ran me $100

possibly contact the pageline people for support with your problem; or at least to remove you worries about the update/upgrade
