I have purchased the event tickets plugin in the past. I have a new client who wants to book painting parties.

The question comes in can you attach a product to the ticket? – so that the site owner can see that Bob registered for abc party on the 10th, and he will be painting custom product xyz blue with his name on it. Or something to that degree.

Can this be done? Or will they need to purchase a product AND a party ticket as separate entities.

Another thought would be to push the user to a (after ticket purchase) product page to have the purchase both the ticket and the custom product….

Thanks in advance for any feedback

    Hey @aaronsmyser,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Unfortunately there is no easy way to directly attach a product to any ticket. But there are couple things you can try.

The more cumbersome option would be setting up a separate ticket for every product. But if you have a lot of events, that can get out of hand.

Other option is using product bundles with WooCommerce where one item in the bundle would be the ticket, the other would be the painting.

Thank you for the reply. I suppose those are viable options. A bundle, or listing the parties/tickets with the products would be fine in this case.

Example: Have tickets as products and have the paintings as products as well – then they could select the party and the painting from the products page. Only caveat there, would be a way to assure they select a party ticket AND a painting before checkout….possible?

Thanks for the help thus far!

    Hi @aaronsmyser!

There is no default way to ensure you select both the ticket and product. It should be posible to achieve that with some custom coding though.

You might want to check out the Force Sells Woocommerce extension, which enables you to force another product to be added to the cart.

That might not be exactly what you need, but it may be worth to consider it as an option.

    I hope that helps!

    Best!

I have come to the following conclusion – I am going to attempt the following:

List the events with the products (The events will have to be separate, because these events will be many and different, but they can select the same product for the event(s)).

Basically the site sells bookings for custom paint parties. The user will select they party they are to attend and which item(product) they will be creating. I will add custom code to ensure they book a party AND purchase a product for creation.

Please let me know if you see any major pitfalls with this process.

Thanks again for your feedback it has been most appreciated.

    Hi @aaronsmyser!

Thanks for following up with this! ??

That seems like a good approach to achieve what you’re looking for. As a side note, you could make use of the shortcodes that WooCommerce provides to embed a product into an event (https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-shortcodes/)

I hope that helps. Let us know how that goes and if you have other questions.

    Best,
    Victor
