Adding posts to static page

  • Right, I’m a complete newbie to wordpress and have no programming skills at all.
    I have used a theme WP Opulus theme to create a video sharing site. I have saved a static page, added posts and categories. I have put the video links from you tube into the posts and have added post names to the menu, home, DJ & Soundsystem, poetry, etc
    I cannot seem to be able to get the videos (installed in the posts) to play when I go into that item on the homepage menu eg I press on the menu link, such as DJ& Soundsystem, and get ‘sorry no posts matches your criteria’.
    Please help this novice getting the video site online.

  • What is your site URL? Did you set up the custom menu using categories for those menu items?

    Hello,
    Thank you for your reply. OK my site URL is rastafaritvuk.com/wp. I have set up home page and categories for menu items (such as poetry, reasoning, etc) on rastafaritvuk menu and same on WP Opulous main mene. The posts in my dashboard have the u-tube URLs where the videos will play from. If I preview post and press video I can see the videos run I have uploaded, but this will not happen when I press menu item from home page preview.
    I need this to work before I can publish site. As I am a total novice when it comes to doing all this stuff, need the helping hand!
    I have added home page to the menu and all other menu items are categories as I have posts and categories where the videos are shown.
    I have therefore not followed instructions in 1st link above and have added categories as the 2nd link above says.
