Adding Posts to an HTML index page

  • I am extremely new at this… I have a page designed in HTML that is the index page (wp is in a separate folder) and I am using iframes (please stop laughing now)…

    I want to include some sections on the index page that will pull summary’s from single posts in 2 categories…

    Any ideas?

  • Feeds are the easy way to do something like this.

    You could always pass your feed through feedburner.com and use their feedflare service to insert headlines into your other page.

    If you’re up to a little more coding than that, google “Magpie RSS” and use magpie (a php script) to display recent recent posts (from your RSS feeds) outside of WP.

    There are more complicated ways of doing it if you want greater control over the output, but it sounds like one of those would work for you.
