Adding Post excerpts to sidebar overwrites home page

  • I have a custom template I am creating which is not on the web as yet. For some reason when I put the php coding in the sidebar.php file to incorporate post excerpts it overwrites the home page content and throws my layout off. Please help.

  • if the sidebar is called before the main content, try to add a wp_reset_query(); at hte end of the sidebar;

    layout issues can best/only be checked with a link to the live site;

    you could try to use the https://validator.w3.org/ to see if the output gives you some hints what might be wrong.
