Adding Pics Not Working

I have been using this system for about a year and I have always added pictures the same way. When I try it tonight it fails and says: Unable to create directory /home/axionspo/public_html/wp-content/uploads/2007/01. Is its parent directory writable by the server? What is wrong or what am I doing wrong?
