Adding or deleting menu doesn't work anymore

    We use WP 4.5.3 and MMM 2.2.1 in german
    Suddenly when we try to add a new “custom link” to a menu, all checkboxes are unchecked and it’s not possible to save the menu. We receive the error-message that we should enter a valid menu name.

    Because all worked fine till yesterday, so i followed some instructions to resize the “max_input_vars” from 1000 to 5000. now i tried it also with 6000 but MMM isn’t working anymore.

    Any advice would be great. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Chris,

    WordPress 4.5 should have fixed the menu item limit problem.

    Please can you try disabling MMM to see if it’s part of the problem? (you will not lose your settings)

    Hi Tom,
    thanks for your answer.
    We disabled the MMM and when we are trying to add a new menu, we are getting still the same error message: “Please enter a valid menu name”.

    ‘max_input_vars’ are now on 6000.

    Because we have changed nothing before, we have absolutely no idea where to search for fixing the problem…

    Do you have another advice! Thanks in advance!

    Hi Chris,

    The first thing to do is try disabling all plugins and see if it works. If it does, enable plugins one by one until it breaks again (then you know which plugin is causing the problem).

    Hi Tom,
    thanks once more for helping… i did this, and it works again.
    The plugin causing this problem is “ShareButton by AddThis”… till WP 4.5.2 it worked fine.

    I deactivated this plugin, now all is fine again!!!!
