    Hi,

I have a page on which I have a few photos.

As I add more photos, I’d like to add a button at the bottom of a page that basically takes the user to the next page (rather than having a bunch of photos all on one page, I’d like to have them spread out across multiple pages).

On posts, it does that automatically, but is there a way to do that for pages? Seems like there’s a ‘forget about shortcodes button’ plugin, but checking if there are other ways to do it as well.

    Thanks.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Yes, you can kind of “hack” this together in a way. I see that you’re using the Gallery block. What you would actually need is multiple Gallery blocks (one gallery for each “page”) and a Page Break block in between each.

So, in the post editor, you would add a:

    – Gallery block for “page 1” images
    – Page Break block
    – Gallery block for “page 2” images.
    – …

That will create page links on the front-end of your site. It won’t be a “next page” button, but it will be page links.

Also, note that I think this is currently broken with block-based themes. However, it is not an issue with Twenty Twenty-One.

Edit: I tested this with WP 6.0 and a block-based theme and can confirm that it now works with them too.
