Adding new pages too complicated

    First, the “add new” link is missing from the page header.

    Second, clicking on New>Page doesn’t bring up the page editor, and I am really not sure it even creates a new page because I could not find it.

    Third, the “Add New” buttons in the right hand column are weird. I didn’t want to click on that because I figured it would generate a duplicate.

    I know this is a free plugin and beggers can’t be choosers, You could make this plugin a lot easier to use if you:

    1) Don’t interfere with the existing “Add New” in the page header.
    2) Rename the Column buttons to “Add New Here”

    BTW, I have a lot of pages to manage and this plugin really helps.

    Hi (again).

    • First : adding a page if always related to a position in the tree. So we won’t display an Add New button in the header as we think it doesn’t fit the page management logic.
    • Changing the Add New label to Add New Here is a really good idea – thx you ??

    Most people don’t care where the page is located in the admin panel, they are concerned about how the page is accessed by the client.

    So giving people a way to just add a page with the minimum amount of choices is going to make it convenient and increase your customer satisfaction. In fact “Add New” in this case would always mean append new to the end of the list.

    This seems like a logically consistent approach.

    You may have a point here. Thank you. That’s something we might integrate in our future releases.

    Add new is confusing and difficult compared to the WP standard admin. Does that sound “advanced”?

    I do like what you’re doing with page organization and think it’s great. But, they thought the Edsel was an advance over the Fairlane, too.

    Hi, first could you create a thread about your specific problem as it is the third one I see.

    Regarding your question (and the Edsel/Fairlane example) : most of our users think it’s a good feature. Be sure that we tried to solve the add page problem which exists currently in WordPress. Is it perfect ? Probably not.

    We may change that in the future if we find a better way to go. Or better : one of our user may propose and develop an alternative ?? #opensourcemagic
