I love this plugin. It is exactly what I have been looking for. Kudos!

Is there a way to add a name field to the form? I use Mailchimp and the first name of a person is valuable data to collect in addition to their email address. I would prefer to use your coding because it is so much more visually appealing than the Mailchimp defaults.

    Can this be done?

Hi, thanks for liking our plugin! We have received a lot of requests for the name field and are already looking into this. You can start using the plugin to grow your subscribers. I’ll let you know as soon as we release this feature. ??

    Hey,

We now have the ability to add custom fields such as name. Go to the “Design” step and you can add new fields under the “Form Fields” section.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Love the changes! Thanks for such a great plug-in. ??

I have added first and last name fields to the MailMunch optin form, but only the email address shows up in MailChimp, not the names. Is there anything else with the configuration that I might have missed?

donh229, you have to go to the “Integrate” step and edit your integration. Then make sure that the fields that you added are matched with their corresponding fields on MailChimp.

Thanks for the tip. I still can’t figure it out, however. Is the edit to integration settings done within Mailmunch or Mailchimp? When I click on Connected Accounts > Mailchimp within Mailmunch, I’m just prompted for the list name and then the only other option appears to be Next Step, then Finished on the next screen.

When I searched for Integrate within Mailchimp, a list of integration plugins showed up, but I don’t believe I’m looking for another plugin to handle this? The Merge Tags tab within Mailchimp is prepopulated with fields First Name and Last Name, and then there’s a place for a Default Merge Tag Value. I’m not sure what to put here, if this is the solution though?

Then there’s the Form Integration tab within Mailchimp, but the only applications shown are Twitter, Wufoo, Squarespace and Coffee Cup Form Builder. I thought I would find Mailmunch listed. Or does one need to use one of the listed Form Integration apps to interface between Mailmunch and WordPress?

Sorry if these are dumb questions, but I’m rather new to WordPress and have searched all over the place to find out how to capture the first and last name of list subscribers. Seems like it would be fairly common to want this, so if there’s a video or URL that explains the procedure I’m happy to look there as well. Aside from this remaining step, I’m liking Mailmunch a lot! Much better and so many more options than the other apps I’ve tried. ??

This is done in MailMunch. Go to MailMunch and edit your opt-in form. You will see the tabs on top and there will be one called “Integrate”, go there. If it’s already integrated with MailChimp, edit the integration and if it’s not integrated, then integrate it with MailChimp.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I see now, it’s the little “pen” icon to the right of the Mailchimp list that allows editing the integration, thanks! I have confirmed the first and last name fields are now populating into Mailchimp.

One more question: I decided to add City and Country fields to the signup form in addition to First Name and Last Name. In the integration setup, there are only two optional fields, however. Is there a way to add more than two fields, or do I just need to choose the two that are most important to me? Thanks again for your help!
