• I’ve read that WordPress does not support multiple blogs on 1 site, except by going for a multi-site option. I wonder why this restriction exists, and whether it could be overcome within a theme. Maybe a template file, with a ‘category post’page, that could read and display the posts for a specific category?
I’m still quite new to WordPress, but love what I’ve seen so far, and interested at trying my hand at some development.
My guess is that if this were feasible, someone would have done it by now! But anyone out there know?

Whoever said that is wrong. I have more than 3 copies of WordPress running quite happily on one site. Perhaps it would help if you clarified exactly what you mean by “blog”. Generally, blog = site.

I meant to say on 1 install of WordPress. I thought I might be able to have separate pages for different post categories, without having to install further copies of WordPress.

WordPress does generate pages for each category on demand but all posts will be listed on your main posts page by default unless you start adding custom queries to your theme’s index.php template file.
